With the civic election just over two weeks away, a number of chances for the public to hear and meet candidates have been organized. The first of the all-candidate meetings was October 3, sponsored by the South End Community Association. It was my pleasure to attend along with approximately 30 other candidates. The format was for each candidate to introduce themselves, then each was given a randomly-selected question to answer. With the number of people involved it was time-consuming, but still very worthwhile. It is my hope that voters this year will take the time to come to events like this, and to do research on which candidates they think would be best suited and best qualified to hold public office.
