It was a privilege for me to again be the Master of Ceremonies at this year's Remembrance Day ceremony at the Nanaimo cenotaph to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. A large crowd was on hand, and the weather cooperated nicely. My thanks and congratulations to Bill and Lynn Brayshaw from Branch 10 Legion for their work in organizing the event, along with the many other volunteers who assisted in countless ways. A special thanks goes to local musician Tom Mitchell for donating his time and sound system at the last minute. And of course special acknowledgement must go to veteran Victor Osborne, who was on hand to lay a wreath on his 100th birthday!
