City Grants Approvals

This is the time of year when the City budget is discussed, and upcoming tax rates are determined. More on that in future. But the City does use some tax money to help support worthy volunteer organization, and that is often overlooked. At the December 13, 2023, Finance and Audit Committee meeting, the following grant amounts were approved for 2024:

A total of $10,000 in Neighbourhood Association Grants

A total of $20,000 in Community Environmental Sustainability Project Grants

A total of $85,000 in Social Planning Grants

A total of $366,427 in Cultural Operating, Project and Downtown Event Revitalization Grants

For all of the above grants, there is an application process which has clear eligibility requirements and assessment criteria. The grants are recognized as an investment in our community.
