Lest We Forget

This past Saturday, November 11, it was an honour for me to once again act as Master of Ceremonies for Nanaimo's annual Remembrance Day event at the downtown Cenotaph. Following a wind and rain storm on the Friday night, it was

incredible that the weather cleared and we even had some sunshine for the ceremony. A large crowd was on hand to pay their respects, and others watched on Shaw Cable. My thanks to all the supporters and organizers for the event, in particular Joann Walton and Lew Forth from RCL Branch 256, and Lynn Redekopp from Branch 10. Also to the cadets who participated and held a Friday-night vigil, and to the members of the Nanaimo Concert Band for their participation, as well as to Parade Marshall Mike Tomashiro who did an excellent job.
