First Regular Council Meeting
The incoming Nanaimo City Council held its first regular meeting on the evening of Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Shaw Auditorium in VICC. As is usual, the meeting was televised by Shaw Cable. Earlier this month the Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon, at which members of the incoming City Council were invited to introduce themselves and identify topics they see as important. Each of us gave a very brief impromptu response. Personally, I always feel that Councillors need to remember that they are honoured to be representing the citizens of our city. Before any more time passes, I would like to acknowledge all the individuals and organizations that contributed to Nanaimo's annual Remembrance Day Ceremony, held last Friday at the downtown Cenotaph. Inauguration
On the evening of Monday, November 7, 2022, the newly-elected Nanaimo City Council became official.
