Advance Voting

Voting begins today for the upcoming municipal elections. Voters can avoid the rush and cast advance ballots from 8am to 8pm at the Beban Park Social Centre at 2300 Bowen Road. There will be another advance voting opportunity on October 14 at Beban Park, then the main voting day on October 17 at numerous locations around the city.

Who is on your local City Council matters, and they make decisions that affect you directly. There are some good candidates running, and I hope voters do their research to check qualifications and experience. We need people who are practical, common-sense people who think independently on each issue and make informed, educated decisions. We do not need people who are bound to a political ideology. We need people who will vote to support our economy by welcoming business and sustainable growth.

A reminder that voters can support as many as eight candidates for Council. But you do not have to vote for eight - you can choose to vote for as many or as few as you feel are suitable people for the role.
